Definitely a top game! Cons: lots of chatter, controls not optimal, too much action for the small 3DS screen, and monotony in the levels.
Pros: Packed with amazing action, stunning visuals, Nintendo's best music, humorous dialogues, solid gameplay.
Kid Icarus: Uprising is addictive. It just is. With over 300 achievements to unlock and an infinite number of weapon variations, you'll keep gaming! Cijfer:

Hilarious game with cool action. One of the funniest games I've ever played. I laughed out loud multiple times during the game. The story is very well-written and has cool twists and turns.
Air sections are fantastic to play and feel natural. The constant banter during battles keeps things interesting. Some people may experience hand cramps, but I didn't have any issues with that. Read more...
Ground sections are sometimes cool, sometimes mediocre. Especially areas where precise platforming is required can be frustrating because "dodging" attacks often results in falling off the level. But when there's enough space to fight, it feels satisfying.
After finishing the game, there's still a lot to do. For the completionists among us, this is truly a massive game. Hide. Kid Icarus: Uprising Cijfer:

The long wait was worth it. After almost 20 years, a new installment in the Kid Icarus series finally arrived, called Kid Icarus: Uprising. The previous parts were more side-scrolling platform games like Mario Bros. With this installment, they decided to create a completely different genre. It's a mix of an on-rail shooter and an action-adventure game!
The game follows the young hero Pit, who must save the world from Medusa. Each level starts with you flying in the air, shooting down all enemies in your path. However, Pit doesn't have the stamina to fly for long, so after a few minutes, you land on the ground to continue running and shooting until you reach the boss of that level. I find this concept very enjoyable. The graphics are among the best you can have on the 3DS, and the music is beautiful with many orchestral pieces. The voice acting is truly excellent, and there's a lot of humor in the game. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between Pit and Palutena :). The game isn't very long, but you can replay it many times because it offers various difficulty levels. There's also a very fun multiplayer mode that kept me entertained for a while and that I still pick up occasionally. Plus, you can unlock a variety of weapons and other items.
The only downside is that the controls are a bit tricky, but that wasn't a big issue for me. Just takes some getting used to. You also get a special stand for your 3DS which makes playing a bit easier. Overall, it's a fantastic game, definitely one that's worth getting a 3DS for. Cijfer:

It can be very addictive What was the highlight of a holiday? Swimming, going out? No; played Kid Icarus: Uprising for hours with my stepbrother. The multiplayer mode is addictive, and you notice that you only have competition and therefore fun in making weapons if you play long enough. Single player isn't that long, which is actually a shame. However, this is still a lot of fun due to various other possibilities, and I don't even have an AR card. Good humor in single player by the way. Not surprising that Sakurai was proud of this and it shows in Super smash bros for 3ds/wiiU. It can get boring, but that happens muuuuuuuch later than with other games. Cijfer:
8,5Definitely a great game! This game has been greatly improved! They have made it into a different kind of game now and I really enjoyed it. You can spend a lot of time playing because you want to achieve all the goals. The achievements are also challenging, which I really appreciate. Kid Icarus: Uprising is definitely recommended, it took a long time before another Kid Icarus came out after the NES, but it was definitely worth the wait! Cijfer:

Exciting battles and a surprising story! Super original adventure and a surprisingly fun game! In Kid Icarus: Uprising the controls take a bit of getting used to, especially since you use one hand for the stylus to aim and hold the 3DS with the other. This can feel a bit awkward at times, but once you get the hang of it, it works quite well. The battles are thrilling and varied, with lots of different enemies and bosses. The story is enjoyable, with funny dialogues and plenty of action. The graphics are fantastic for a handheld game, and the light-hearted, imaginative theme makes it very entertaining. A must-have for action and adventure lovers! Cijfer:

The game combines intense aerial combat with thrilling ground battles, all with smooth controls specially designed for the Nintendo 3DS. The developers at Project Sora, led by the famous Masahiro Sakurai, truly went above and beyond to deliver an epic experience. With stunning graphics, an immersive story, and a fantastic soundtrack, this is a game you'll want to play over and over again. How cool is that!

Is It for You?
This game is perfect for fans of action-adventures who enjoy a mix of aerial and ground combat. If you've enjoyed games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, then you'll definitely appreciate Kid Icarus: Uprising. Collectors of classic Nintendo franchises will also find this game Fantastic!
Similar Games
If you like Kid Icarus: Uprising, I recommend trying out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, and Metroid: Samus Returns. These games also offer epic adventures and great gameplay on the Nintendo 3DS!
Compatibility
Kid Icarus: Uprising can be played on all Nintendo 2DS (XL) and (new) 3DS (XL) systems, but not on the older Nintendo DS systems. Please note, if you're using a Nintendo 2DS, you'll miss out on the 3D visuals that make this game even more impressive. The 3D effects truly add an extra layer of depth and spectacle to the battles, so it's a real shame if you can't experience them. But don't worry, it's still a Fantastic game even without the 3D effects!

In Chapter 21 of Kid Icarus: Uprising, Pit mentions that Komayto's look a lot like tiny Metroids, to which Viridi responds by telling him not to spread rumours, as this video game universe and that video game universe have nothing to do with each other.
