This is how a LEGO game should be
LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins is a prequel to the, in my opinion, legendary game on the Wii U. The developers have done their best to make the game look and feel just as atmospheric and fantastic as its Wii U counterpart. Although they don't always hit the bullseye, this is still the best LEGO game on the 3DS.
The missions are fantastic. The city is still quite large, and there are still over 60 vehicles to collect.
There have to be downsides as well: Due to mediocre graphics, the game has a lot of fog, and there is almost no music. Furthermore, the many hilarious dialogues have been replaced by chunks of text.
Lego City Undercover the Chase Begins may not be as good as its Wii U cousin, but it's still worth every penny.

Beautiful game with lots of possibilities!
Personally, I think LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins is a fantastic game. In my opinion, there are too few open-world games for the 3DS, which is a shame because I really enjoy such games! You can walk everywhere and decide for yourself whether or not to do a mission. I read in other reviews that the game can be completed quickly, but after 10 hours of playing, I haven't seen an end screen yet.
What I find a bit disappointing is that it's quite an easy game; step by step, you are told what to do. I would like to see more need for independent thinking. Furthermore, it looks very nice, and the 3D features are well utilized. You can drive any car that passes by, find badges and more in many places... plenty of opportunities to explore on your own.
