Mario Kart... Oh, what a fun series. Each installment is the same, yet completely different. Mario Kart is a series released on every Nintendo console and handheld. Now it's the turn of the 3DS.
What could be new in the 7th installment of the MK series? Of course, now it can be seen in 3D. You can now fly and race underwater. Personally, I find this very exciting because it brings some truly new elements to the new tracks.

Another fun addition is the ability to race with the gyroscope. You tilt your 3DS system and off you go! This is not suitable, for example, for in the car. The gyroscope doesn't work as well in that situation.
I find the single-player mode less enjoyable than the multiplayer. Sometimes it's too easy. Actually, you can't really say that. It also depends on luck. The multiplayer is much more fun. Online or local, it doesn't matter. I often play online to increase my race points. I'm currently around 5000. Playing locally with your brother or someone is fun, but only if they can keep up.

Best Mario Kart game to date!
I didn't have very high expectations for this new Mario Kart at first and waited a while before purchasing it. When it was on sale recently, I decided to buy it, and I'm so glad I did! I've played all Mario Kart games, except the first one, and I have to say that part 7 is the best one I've played so far! Firstly, the graphics on the 3DS are amazing! These are console-quality graphics, and with 60 frames per second, it really feels like you're actually sitting in a kart racing through the corners. The courses are also very fun and original. Usually, a race track consists of three laps, but this time there are tracks that are so long that you only have one lap. There are also old tracks, as always, with slight variations. These small additions really provide a whole new Mario Kart experience.
Another cool feature is that you can now customize your karts. For example, you can choose from different types of wheels. This isn't just for looks; each type of wheel also drives differently! This way, you can customize your kart to suit your needs. Two major innovations this time are that you can race in the air and underwater, which again creates exciting race circuits.
The only downside I can think of is that not all characters are equally great. There are a few that I just don't think belong in a Mario Kart game, and I would have preferred to see a different Mario character instead.
All in all, this is an amazing Mario Kart game that I can recommend to everyone.

At first, I was hesitant about getting this Mario Kart, but I'm glad I did. Mario Kart 7 is very addictive, especially the multiplayer modes. Online, you often come across very skilled players who take shortcuts or use their items in clever ways. The more you play the game, the more you discover your own shortcuts and tactics.
Moreover, you can customize your own car. At the beginning, you don't have many parts, but as you collect enough coins, you unlock a new part each time. It may take a bit of trial and error to find a combination that suits you, but it's great fun to try everything out.

This is the most complete Mario Kart. This is part 7 and it's been 19 years since the first Mario Kart was released on the SNES. The coins are back, making the game more tactical. (Do I deviate from the fastest route to grab a coin so I can go faster?)

Best Mario Kart so far
As soon as the 3DS was released, Nintendo knew there had to be a Mario Kart for the 3DS. Nintendo couldn't come up with a more original name than Mario Kart 7! New features have been added, such as flying and driving underwater. You can now customize your own kart. You can even steer without using the circle pad or control pad. You just tilt your 3DS!
Coins on the track also make a return, which we haven't seen since Mario Kart Super Circuit (3rd game in the series). I'm a bit disappointed that many characters don't return. Waluigi, none of the Babies, no other Kong than Donkey Kong, Dry Bones, Birdo, and Bowser Jr. are all absent in MK7! By the way, you have to unlock Wario.
But enough about the criticism. Overall, this game is a lot of fun! Now, let's see if Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U will be even more enjoyable (set to release in spring 2014). Cijfer:

Beautiful, but with strange character choices!!
Mario Party 7 is a game worth a thousand words... In short, a superb game! The flying and underwater driving give the game a magical twist, which is something I hardly ever see in a game. However, I experienced that same magical twist more with Double Dash!! For the GameCube and of course the Wii version of this series. Especially the playable characters disappoint me deeply. Like the Honey Queen, who previously only appeared in the Super Mario Galaxy series. And Metal Mario, who actually only appeared in Super Mario 64 and Super Smash Bros (both for the N64). Where is Waluigi? Where are the babies? Why is Wario unlockable and not just there from the start? And many more characters that should have been included. Too bad... Mario Kart 7, a must-have game on the 3DS!
One of the most enjoyable Mario Kart games of its generation! Compared to Mario Kart on the DS, this Mario Kart has received many upgrades. Now you can fly while racing and there are various fun circuits and characters added to the game.
My favorite experience playing Mario Kart on the 3DS, which the DS didn't have, was that if you took your 3DS with you, you could play with people you passed by through Streetpass. I had many enjoyable years on the 3DS because of this system and could even join in with other people playing in a hotel room next to mine.
Mario Kart is indeed a must-have game on the 3DS, and additionally, the online server is free compared to the Nintendo Switch, where you have to pay to play a game online. It's a shame for the Switch, but that only makes the 3DS version an even better choice for this game. Cijfer:

I've always been a fan of Mario Kart games. This game has great graphics for a handheld game and almost rivals the Wii version. Mario Kart 7 features fun levels and a few new items; all in all, a cool game.
One downside is the wifi system, the points system, that is. Because the competitive points system from the Wii has been replaced by a slow snail points system. You can never lose points, only gain points. This is a major downside for me because a fun points system is a small detail that could have definitely made the game a lot more enjoyable. Cijfer:

Super innovative and creative new ideas!
This Mario Kart was a game in the series with many innovative ideas. Many of these ideas have had a significant impact on the rest of the series. For example, the fact that you can customize your own kart with the vehicle itself, wheels, and a hang glider/parachute. This can, of course, also be done in the sequels of Mario Kart. The parachute is also a fun new addition to the game, there are special blue ramps from which you can jump and then your parachute opens up! A super cool new mechanism that you also have to master. There are also several new items, such as the "Lucky Seven", this Power-Up gives you the 7 standard items that you can all use! There are also a few others like the Fire Flower, which allows you to throw fireballs (like in Mario Bros.) and a Super Leaf, which gives you a tail that you can use to hit opponents driving around you. In my opinion, Mario Kart 7 is a tad too easy. Unlocking things is just not difficult at all, which is a shame. Also, the VS Race mode is missing, which is very unfortunate because it doesn't give you the freedom to do what you want. However, there is a battle mode and balloon mode, which is very enjoyable with really good battle tracks. But what really makes this game stand out is the online feature. This game manages to have a fantastic online mode that never freezes. You can also create so-called Communities where you can customize certain game modes to your liking and invite your friends. Super fun Mario Kart
This Mario Kart is one of my favorites. The tracks are very enjoyable, and this game works surprisingly well on the 3DS/2DS. The Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7 is my favorite. There are a total of 32 tracks, some from previous versions and some new ones.
Also, very nice is that the 3DS (as of writing this in 2023 at least) has an online feature. So, you can still race against players from all over the world. This is my favorite feature on the Nintendo Switch, so I hope it remains the same on the 3DS for the time being. Cijfer:

I used to play this game a lot on my 3DS. It was fun to join my classmates in long races and hit them with a green shell.

Secrets: How should you react to a blue shell in Mario Kart 7? In this tip, I actually have two tips for you. As soon as you get a fright upon seeing someone with a blue shell in their possession, don’t panic.
Tip 1: You’re racing in the lead and the above scenario occurs. Quickly check the map to see if there’s an opponent nearby. Whether it’s that pesky Bowser, that little Toad, or whoever... Hit the brakes!! As the blue shell approaches, you’ll hear the alarm. This signals that you need to race close to your opponent. If you can let them take the lead, they’ll get hit with that powerful shell while you can keep on racing. If you can only get close, you’ll both be hit, so at least you won’t fall too far behind.
Tip 2: You’re racing along, doing well, but you’re just not in the lead. Someone throws a blue shell! What to do? In previous Mario Kart games, it would fly straight to the racer in first place. In Mario Kart 7, the blue shell zooms across the track and can knock everyone over. So just move to the edge of the track. The shell goes down the middle with a slight deviation sometimes. 3) For this tip, you might need more luck than skill. If the shell is coming towards you while you’re driving over a boost strip, it will automatically be left behind. But I’ll say it again, you really need a fair bit of luck for this one.

It’s possible to cross the small ravine just after the finish line without needing to use the ramp on the ground (which isn’t even faster). Simply go over the jump ramp before the finish in Mario Kart 7, and if you glide just right, you can clear the ravine there without using a Mushroom! Personal tip: How do you earn a 3-star rank in the GP race of Mario Kart 7? In the GP, you race for 8 cups in Mario Kart 7. When you secure a prize, a rank is assigned to indicate how well you've performed. Here are some tips to earn a 3-star rank.
Tip 1: Try to fall off the track as little as possible. It may seem obvious, but it's crucial. Just 1 or 2 falls can cost you a star. So, keep an eye on that.
Tip 2: Avoid driving too often against the edge of the track or over sand/grass. Not only does this slow you down, but it also affects your rank determination.
Tip 3: Use as many shortcuts as possible. I think you're already trying to do this anyway, but the more you do it and the better you are at it, the higher your chances of achieving a 3-star rank. Cutting a corner with a mushroom by driving over grass/sand counts too.
Tip 4: Hit others and avoid getting hit yourself. If you have a green shell, you can use it to protect yourself or to hit others. If you see an opponent with a red shell, keep your item behind you to avoid being hit. If someone is close to you, try to hit them. If you get hit by a blue shell or a lightning bolt, it’s not the end of the world, but it shouldn't happen too often.
Tip 5: Stay in 1st place for as long as possible and collect as many coins as you can during each race.
If you follow these 5 tips, you’ll definitely earn a 3-star rank. If you end up with only 2 or 1 star, give it another go and really pay attention to these tips. You'll get there! I've noticed on the track that your kart goes just a bit faster in the air than on land or in water. Wouldn't it be fun to stay airborne a little longer? Well, sometimes you can!
