Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet is based on the popular animated series "Super Hero Squad Show" that began in 2009. The game was released in 2010 and builds on the success of the first Super Hero Squad game. With the increasing popularity of Marvel films and series, this game remained a favorite among younger players and Marvel enthusiasts. The use of the Infinity Stones in the story foreshadowed later storylines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, giving this game a unique historical value.

According to IGN: "Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet is a fun and accessible game for younger players, but it lacks depth for older gamers." GamesRadar stated: "The humor and charming design make it an enjoyable experience for Marvel fans of all ages."

Is It for You?

This game is perfect for young Marvel fans who adore superheroes and adventure! But also, families looking to play together will have a blast with the cooperative gameplay. I often see parents buying this game for their children but secretly joining in. Fantastic, isn't it?

Fun for young Marvel fans, but lacking depth.
Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet for the Nintendo 3DS is a simplistic action game that mainly targets a younger audience in my opinion. The cartoony style and humour fit well with the animated TV series the game is based on, but I found the gameplay to become repetitive quite quickly and not really challenging. The controls are simple, but lack the fluidity you would expect from an action game. The battles mostly consist of button-mashing without much depth, which can become a bit frustrating over time.

Although it's fun to play as different Marvel heroes, the variety and depth remain limited. You can get to work with iconic characters like Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk, but the options and special abilities of these heroes are fairly restricted. This means that the game offers little in the way of surprises over time, and the excitement can fade quickly.

The graphical presentation is also nothing to write home about. The animations are jerky and lack detail, which doesn’t enhance the gaming experience. For younger gamers and fans of the TV series, Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet can be an entertaining experience, but for older gamers and fans of in-depth superhero games, it offers little reason for enthusiasm. If you're looking for a challenging and visually impressive superhero game, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
