Simple and affordable 3DS!
I'm not a fan of 3D gaming, but I do love the excellent collection of games available for the 3DS. Eventually, I decided to buy a 3DS and simply turned off the 3D feature. That's why the 2DS was perfect for me. If I didn't already own a 3DS, I would definitely opt for a 2DS. I believe many gamers feel the same way. With the money you save, you can buy more games!
One downside is the rather unattractive design of this handheld. So, if you want to enjoy the amazing 3DS games on a budget, this Nintendo 2DS is the perfect choice for you!

Great Device for a Small Price
The 2DS is just as its name suggests: simply a Nintendo 3DS without the 3D effect. This means you can play all the games that are available on the original 3DS. The major advantage of this handheld console is, of course, its lower price compared to a regular 3DS. The only downside is that it doesn't fold, which makes it prone to collecting dust and other dirt on the screen. This almost makes it necessary to purchase a carrying case. I must say, the 2DS feels really comfortable in hand; even better than a regular 3DS in my opinion. All in all, the 2DS is a great purchase if you're not too concerned about the 3D effect and prefer not to spend too much money on a handheld console.

The 2DS resembles the 3DS, but in a clumsy way...
The 2DS is a peculiar case, you should actually see it as a 3DS that you can't fold open or close and that can't display 3D. Nintendo did this so they could place it at a lower price in stores and make it more appealing to young children, the target audience of this handheld. The 2DS does feel very comfortable to hold, the L and R buttons are also very nice to use because they are much more comfortable. What is a shame though, is the sound. The 3DS (XL) had very good sound quality due to the stereo speakers. Unfortunately, the 2DS only has 1 speaker which makes the sound mono. Another downside is that it is less compact and the screens are more vulnerable because it cannot be closed. So, you are obliged to buy a protective case.
I would only recommend the 2DS if you really want to play 3DS games but don't want to spend the extra few pounds for a 3DS.

My favorite
This is my favorite 2DS/3DS model. It is the most comfortable to hold. Also, it is very cheap. It can play 3DS and DS games. It may not have a really nice design in my opinion, and compared to the other models, it looks like it comes from a different planet, but personally, I prefer to have a comfortable handheld over a nice one. It doesn't have a 3D function, but I never use that because it really gives me a headache if I look at it for too long. The games are fine to play without 3D and look fantastic, so you're not missing out on much there.

Yes, all the other models have improved on everything, but this remains my personal favorite.

Plastic and more plastic
I was very curious about this and borrowed one from someone. It feels quite sturdy, but looks rather cheap. It usually sells for around 110 euros in stores, so I would suggest saving up a bit more for a 3DS or 3DS XL. The Nintendo 2DS seems particularly useful for younger children, as their hinges tend to become loose or break. In terms of display, the 2DS is exactly the same as a 3DS.

The 2DS is a fantastic device
I don't find the Nintendo 2DS to look very nice, but that doesn't spoil the fun. I actually bought the 2DS specifically for Pokemon Omega Ruby, but soon I discovered other games that appealed to me.

Nice DS for a nice price
The Nintendo 2DS looks quite unique because you can't fold it shut. Luckily, you can play 3DS games on the 2DS. The 2DS is cheaper, but the 3DS has more features.

Comfortable and user-friendly despite its appearance
The Nintendo 2DS has a striking design that not everyone finds appealing, but when I play with it, I notice how comfortable it feels in my hands. The 2DS is a robust and sturdy device, ideal for hours of gaming without straining my hands. Although the design is often criticised, I find it pleasant and user-friendly.

A big advantage of the 2DS is that it skips the 3D feature of the Nintendo 3DS. For me, this doesn’t matter, as I hardly ever use the 3D option anyway. The 2DS offers the same great gaming experiences without the extra costs of 3D, making it a smart choice. In short, the Nintendo 2DS is a fantastic option for anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable handheld console.

Cheap option
The Nintendo 2DS is quite a peculiar device. It lacks the features that other 3DS models possess. It's basically just a bulky piece of plastic that you can't fold shut, unlike any other 3DS device.

As I mentioned, the 2DS is simply a piece of cheap plastic and quite bulky. Because you can't fold it shut, the screen is never protected and tends to scratch very easily on its own.

On the flip side, the 2DS is indeed the most affordable way to play 3DS games. So if you're keen on playing 3DS games on a budget, this is definitely an option.
