Great game, so worth buying!!
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a super fun cross-over, especially if you enjoy solving puzzles. In the game, you switch between Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright. With the professor, you solve puzzles in the city, and with Phoenix, you stand in the courtroom as a lawyer. The story is top-notch! You can play it in English or Dutch. It's about a girl named Meave, who believes herself (and is suspected of being) a witch. She seeks the help of the professor and Phoenix.
The music in the game is superb and of top quality. After completing the game, you unlock a bonus chapter every Friday and the following Friday, artwork from the game! The only tiny downside is that the mini-games are missing, and there are few puzzles included. Cijfer:

A great way to get to know both series
This is a game you must play for the fantastic story: A brilliant lawyer and the world's best puzzle solver find themselves in a medieval town where everything that is going to happen is already predetermined. They will investigate how this can happen and how they ended up here.
This is done by solving around 75 brain teasers as the professor and defending a number of suspects in court cases.

The story has many plot twists, incredibly well-developed characters, and is told with more pace than I was used to from the original Layton games.
The game is divided into two phases:
Investigating in the town (where you encounter the puzzles.)
And the court cases.
In court cases, you grill the witnesses. Often they lie, or say something (unintentionally) that doesn't add up. You then question further, or present evidence to prove them wrong. The court cases are well-crafted and make you feel like YOU are solving the case.
The game is a good entry point for both series, you don't need to have knowledge of Layton or Ace Attorney games to play this. It can be played in both Dutch and English (adjust your language in settings and voila!)

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a great starting point for both series. If you enjoy (detective) stories, this is definitely for you! If you're not into stories and prefer more action in your games, then skip this title. Hide. Cijfer:

The best of both worlds
Where the worlds of Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton seem to blend well at first glance, the creators clearly struggled to find a balance. But the result is impressive.
Both exploring Labyrinthia and defending defendants in court feel like a well-balanced process, keeping you on the edge of your seat to unravel the next inevitable plot twist.
